Tim Street

Tim Street is President of the International Six-Metre Association and over the last 25 years has owned several Six Metres. He first raced a Six-Metre at Kiel in 1960 when he represented the British Army against the Germany Navy. In 1985 he re-founded the British Six Metre Fleet at Cowes after a gap of 30 years.

In 1995, he produced the first ISMA Classics Newsletter which he edited for eleven years and in 1998 was elected the first Chairman of the ISMA Classics Committee. At the 2000 AGM he introduced the rules for building Replicas. Tim Street has written widely on military maritime and amphibious history and is married with two sons who also race Six Metres. He lives near Salcombe in Devon, England where he first learnt to sail.
